Studying and living in Ingolstadt

One thing immediately springs to mind when thinking of Ingolstadt: Audi. But of course Ingolstadt has much more to offer. The city is the seat of the University of Eichstätt-Ingolstadt’s Faculty of Economics (WFI) and also the home of the Technical University of Ingolstadt (THI).

The number of enrolled students is currently around 6,500. Their share of the total population of Ingolstadt numbering around 137,000 inhabitants (as of May 2018) is 4.8%, compared to 2.5% in 2007. The number of students currently attending Ingolstadt’s universities has thus risen continuously in recent years, and there is no end in sight.

Due to the ideal central location of Ingolstadt between Munich, Regensburg, Augsburg and Nuremberg and the continuing good economic situation, the population development should continue at the current level reaching the 140,000 mark in just under 5 years’ time.

Of course, the number of students and their effect on the housing market in the region will also increase during this period.

The Grounds

The spacious area extending around the whole building offers the opportunity to enjoy a little nature and fresh air in summer months. This is not only the perfect place to sit with friends or family in the in fine weather, but also offers a place of relaxation and tranquillity. Where better to relax on a beautiful summer’s day than in your own garden!

The open space also gives you the opportunity to get to know your neighbours in a cosy and relaxed atmosphere. There is also enough space for up to eight bicycles on the grounds beside the entrance. The M60 grounds create a feel-good atmosphere and gives the entire building its charm.

        Ground Floor

        12 of the 33 apartments are located on the ground floor. The domiciles offer enough space for the home furnishings, such as a kitchenette, a bed and seating areas. Each of these approximately 20 square meter apartments has a bathroom with shower and a private terrace (except apartments 11 and 12). Thus there is direct access from the apartment to the open space.

              First Floor

              A further 13 of the 33 apartments are located here. All of these apartments have their own balcony, where you can relax from everyday stress. Of course, each apartment on the upper floor also has enough space for furniture and a kitchenette.

                    Second Floor

                    There are another 8 apartments here on the top floor of the building, each of which also has its own balcony. From these apartments you have a wonderfully view overlooking the city and they are ideal for relaxing on. The spacious interior also provides room for furnishings and the kitchen. Furthermore, each of these apartments has a bathroom complete with shower.


                    Cellar & Car Park

                    A separate cellar compartment with sufficient storage space can be rented with all of the apartments for just 10.- Euros a month. Due to the wide corridors, these can also be easily reached with larger objects. Furthermore, washing machines and dryers with a coin slot are available to the residents on the ground floor, meaning that it is not necessary to purchase these devices. In addition, the underground garage offers space for up to 17 cars and has another 14 parking spaces for bicycles. The underground parking spaces can also be rented as an option for 60.- Euros a month.

                    The spacious design and good lighting in the underground car park make parking and unloading easy. As a result, damage to both your own and third-party vehicles can be reduced to a minimum. The underground car park is accessed via Manchinger Straße. The parking spaces and the cellars can be reached via the stairwell, so that you can access them dry-footed even in bad weather.

                    Facilities and more!

                    Each apartment is lovingly furnished and equipped with all the necessities. The apartments are therefore ready for occupancy without having to invest in effort and can be moved into immediately. Furthermore, there is the advantage that all furnishings, such as the kitchenette or the dining table, are optimally matched to the apartment’s design and thus fit perfectly.

                    The design of the entire apartment is therefore uniform and coordinated. This gives the apartment a very special modern character and creates a feel-good atmosphere for both a working and leisure environment.

                    Frequently asked questions (FAQ)...

                    Rental is for at least 6 months and is only available to students, trainees and interns.

                    For rental we will need the following documents:

                    • Certificate of enrollment, training contract or internship certificate (as soon as they are available)
                    • Completed "Self-Disclosure" form
                    • A copy of your current and valid identity card

                    General information

                    The rental price is a so-called "warm" tarif, meaning that all costs for water, electricity, garbage, house cleaning/caretaker and internet (WiFi) are included. The tenant must however register himself by the GEZ (TV/Radio licencing fees) and bear the costs for this themselves.

                    The deposit is € 750. When moving out, cleaning costs amount to € 60.
